Musical magic comes to Redding this spring when the Shasta High School music department proudly presents the Broadway version of “Cinderella.”  Following a 39-year tradition, the Shasta High School Choir will bring together talent, enchanting costumes, and marvelous set design to transform this timeless tale into a dream come true.  Adults and children will be entranced when Cinderella comes to life under the direction of Gavin Spencer, who has brought to the stage such extraordinary performances as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Les Miserables.”

History’s most enduring fairy tale is set to sparkling music as Lou Polcari leads the Shasta High Orchestra with such favorites as “Ten Minutes Ago,” “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful,” and “In My Own Little Corner.”  Rogers and Hammerstein originally composed this musical for television at the height of their success, and it proved so popular through the years that it was rewritten for the stage.
