Mercy Medical Center in Redding regularly presents health-related seminars and lectures that are a real information asset for the community. Coming up soon are two that address the needs of new parents and men.
The Men’s Health Seminar is a free evening of information on Sept. 10 at Mercy Oaks. A panel of local doctors will discuss topics related to men’s health, including prostate screening. Men who attend the seminar can sign up for a $20 (cheap!) prostate screening on Sept. 24.
The parenting classes will be offered on Monday evenings, beginning Sept. 14. The eight-week classes are designed for expecting parents or those with preschool children. The classes are free, but preregistration is required.

- Seen in the classified ads: “ARABIAN Gelding, NO VICES! Safe, FUN! Easy Keeper, Sound. Clip, Tie, Trailer, Bathes.” Is this an ad for a horse or a boyfriend?
