The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office along with Shasta College, Shasta County Probation, and the Good News Rescue Mission would like to congratulate three of our students, who have been enrolled in the STEP-UP program (Shasta Technical Education Program-Unified Partnership), and graduated May 20th from Shasta College. Two of the students, Joel Hinton and Val Helton have earned certificates in the Heavy Equipment field of instruction, and Jason Farnsworth has earned his Associates in Arts (AA) degree with honors in the same field.
The students were recognized by related faculty, administrators, guests, and currently enrolled STEP-UP students that morning. All students attended the Shasta College commencement ceremonies on May 20th. These three students have come from different challenging paths in their lives, and put forth the effort to improve themselves for the better. They started their educational goals with the assistance of the above-mentioned organizations, and successfully completed their goals to move forward and lead more productive lives within our local communities.
Special thanks goes out to Eva Jimenez, Shasta College Dean of Economic Workforce Development and the Instructional Administrator for STEP-UP program. Eva has done a superb job working with the STEP-UP partnership and has provided a strong supportive role for the students since the program’s inception. On behalf of Sheriff Bosenko and the Shasta County Sheriff Office, please join us in congratulating our three graduating STEP-UP students for job well done!
