What: Monthly Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Darfur on the Sundial Bridge
When: Fri., July 31. 7 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Gather at north end of the Sundial Bridge
What: Genocide No More-Save Darfur, a group of Shasta County residents, is holding the prayer vigil. The Shasta County group is committed to stopping the genocide in Darfur and raising funds quickly for humanitarian aid to the millions of refugees in camps in Chad and the Sudan. The expulsion of 13 humanitarian aid agencies by the government of Sudan has placed millions of displaced Darfuris in danger of death from starvation and disease. Recent reports indicate that with the advent of the rainy season their plight has become even more desperate with the destruction of many tents and shelters in camps in West Darfur.
