  • 4-10 Summer ScheduleMonday, June 1st is the start of the 4-10 summer schedule.  All Shasta College campuses will be closed on the following dates:  June 5, 12, 19 and 26; July 3(HOLIDAY), 10, 17, 24 and 31.  Regular schedules will resume on Monday, August 3.  If you have any questions, please contact the Human Resources office.
  • Webinar – Become the Manager Everyone Want to Work ForOn Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. in room 806 the webinar “A Supervisor’s Guide to Becoming the Manager Everyone Wants to Work For” will be shown. The length of the webinar is one hour. All interested staff are invited to attend. Please note that this is not a Flex Approved activity.   • Online PedagogyRequired for hybrid and online courses. We have a session scheduled for July 6th through the 31st. You can earn 40 hours of Flex credit for participation.   • Shasta College Summer Musical Comedy “Guys and Dolls”Enjoy what many critics have hailed as “the perfect musical comedy,” and “the best and most exciting thing of its kind!”– the summer musical production “Guys and Dolls!” premiers this summer at the Shasta College Theatre. Thirty five accomplished North State actors, singers and dancers will bring the music and lyrics of Frank Loesser to life with performances designed for the entire family! “Guys and Dolls!” will open on Thursday, July 9th at 7:30 P.M. Performances will continue for 3 weeks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, July 9th-25th at 7:30 P.M. with two special Sunday afternoon matinees on July 12th and 19th at 2:00 P.M.  Tickets are available online through the Shasta College website or by calling 242-7730. Tickets will also be available at the door for shows that don’t sell out for $12 (general admission) and $10 (seniors and students). Under the musical direction of Dr. Elizabeth Waterbury and featuring original choreography by Roni Grandell, “Guys and Dolls” promises to be another smash hit production from the Shasta College Theatre Department in the tradition of other great musicals such as last summer’s “Chicago”. “Guys and Dolls!” is directed by Ken Hill with set design by David Fraser and costume design by Hillary Wilson-Fahey.
  • Math Camp 2015 – Please share this information with studentsNOW is the time to plan for Math Camp 2015.  Sign up in the Assessment Office or with a Counselor.  Math Camp 2015 dates are August 3-6 from 9:00am – 3:30pm.  If you qualify for a 100-level or 200-level Math course, then Math Camp is for you!  It’s a FREE one-week program for Shasta College students (incoming and continuing) that is designed to prepare students for their next math course.  Spend a week studying math in a friendly, no-stress environment.  Learn how to study efficiently and prepare well for math tests. Create a network of friends who will support you next fall.  Acquire the skills and confidence you need to succeed at Shasta College. This is a FREE program and FREE lunch will be served daily. Students must commit to the entire week of Math Camp.  Sign up in the Assessment Office or with a Counselor.
  • Summer 2015–Food Service HoursSummer Grill hours for food service will begin Monday June 15th and continue through Thursday July 16th.Hours of operation 7:30 am – 2:00 pm, closed ALL Fridays.
  • 2015-2016 Salary Schedules now posted on websiteThe 2015-2016 Short-term and Temporary Employee Salary Schedule AND the 2015-2016 Student Employee Salary Schedule can be found on the HR webpage under Salary Schedules.  You can link to them here: http://www.shastacollege.edu/Human%20Resources/Pages/4173.aspx Please notice that the $9.00 per hour wage for Short-term and Temporary Employees has been removed with Range 1 now at $11.00 per hour.  Student Employees will be paid $10.00 per hour effective 7/1/15.
  • Community Resource Referral servicesShasta County Health and Human Services Agency is partnering with Enrollment Services in providing community resource referrals to Shasta College students.  Services include health coverage and food assistance referrals, as well as access to many other community resources.  Wernjiem Pien, Community Health Advocate, is now on campus every 2nd and 4th Thursday.  Students can call (530) 604-5159 or (530) 229-8216 to schedule an appointment.  Please share this information with students that may benefit from this service.
