Violet tells him she can’t make a decision until she knows the truth about Princess Kuragin.
Vyner has come with the information that Green seems to have had a history of attacking women. And it’s clear he suspects this happened to Anna. He also says Bates is in the clear because a witness has come forward saying that whomever was with Green at the time of his death was shorter than he was. He asks Anna to come to Scotland Yard while they are in London. Anna wonders if she should just tell Vyner the truth about herself and Green.

That night, Atticus is at his bachelor party, and seems to be a little drunk. He excuses himself, but at the elevator a woman comes up to him and tries to kiss him. He gets away from her but she follows him upstairs and forces her way into his room. She’s there just long enough to bare her shoulders and go, leaving Atticus perplexed.

Atticus goes to confront his father, thinking he’s the one who set him up to stop the marriage. Lord Sinderby confesses that he is indeed very much opposed with marriage because it means Atticus’ children will not be Jewish. He also says that he did not do this, and Atticus seems to believe him.
Rose confesses to Mary and Tom that she would like to believe Atticus but she’s just not sure. If it was a trick, she’s sad someone would stoop so low to ruin her happiness.

As they leave, the proprietor presents Denker with a bill.
