They Fired All the Copy Editors, Part XI: In today’s local paper, prominent on the front of the real estate section, we find this large headline: “GEORGEOUS VIEWS!” Apparently, this lovely home has a great view of someone named George. I wonder how George feels about that.
DVDs We’ve Seen: “The Girl in the Cafe,” starring Bill Nighy and Kelly Macdonald, a romantic tale about an awkward British civil servant who invites a young woman to accompany him to a G-8 meeting in Iceland. Once there, he finds that she’s an outspoken lass who browbeats heads of state about world poverty. Macdonald won an Emmy for her performance in this HBO film with an important message.
