On Saturday, October 18, residents from across Shasta County will gather at Redding City Hall from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to join thousands of communities nationwide in the “No Kings” Day of Action, a peaceful demonstration affirming that America has no kings and power belongs to the people.
The local Peaceful Protest and March will begin with a rally at City Hall followed by a march (10:00 Am) down Cypress Avenue to Hartnell Avenue and back. Participants are encouraged to wear yellow, the national color of peaceful resistance, and bring non-perishable food donations for the Shasta College Food Pantry.
This rally is about unity, democracy, and caring for our neighbors. We’re gathering peacefully to show that civic action and compassion go hand in hand.
The No Kings movement, organized by grassroots partners nationwide, highlights local voices rejecting authoritarianism and celebrating people-powered democracy.
More than 2,700 events are planned across the United States on October 18.
