CURRENT SITUATION
• We had 240 cases on Wednesday, including 97 men, 124 women and 19 people of unknown gender:
13 children under age 13
21 teenagers
30 people in their 20s
39 people in their 30s
28 people in their 40s
35 people in their 50s
30 people in their 60s
20 people in their 70s
6 people in their 80s
2 people over age 89
16 people of unknown age
• We are sorry to have to report four deaths today. They are two men over age 89, a man in his 80s and a woman over age 89.
• Our available regional ICU capacity remains well above the 15% that would trigger a regional stay-at-home order. The counties in our region are Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity counties. Staying home as much as possible and using precautions that include wearing masks, keeping our distance and washing hands frequently will help stop the spread of COVID-19.
• In Shasta County, people who are hospitalized because of COVID have an average length of stay of 10.8 days, compared with 7.4 days statewide. For Shasta County patients in the Intensive Care Unit because of COVID-19, average length of stay is 17.2 days, compared with 9.6 days statewide.
