• Shasta County has 4 new positive cases. They are two women in their 50s with no symptoms, a man in his 40s with symptoms, and a woman in her 30s with symptoms. None of the cases were connected with the family gathering reported earlier this week.

• The state of California has mandated that face coverings are now required state wide by the public when outside the home. The timing of the release of this guidance will help address the increase of COVID-19 in our county. More information is available at www.ShastaReady.org; click on “Frequently Asked Questions.”

• The Shasta County Office of Education, in partnership with the schools and districts in Shasta County and Shasta County Public Health, has worked to develop a resource for parents on what school will look like based on the State Public Health Guidance. All public, site-based schools in Shasta County share a common set of best practices to guide each school’s return to instruction on school sites as safely and effectively as possible, with as much normalcy as possible. This resource is available on www.ShastaReady.org; click on “Frequently Asked Questions.”

• Anyone can be tested for COVID-19. If you have symptoms, contact your healthcare provider or call (530) 225-5591. People with or without symptoms can sign up for testing at Shasta College by going to https://lhi.care/covidtesting. Appointments are required.
