Head to Vintage Wine Bar & Restaurant early for a table on Saturday. Local favorite Aaron Bowen will perform his unique blend of acoustic, folk and ragtime with a twist of jazz.
Thanks for playing again in Redding. How did you land here in the first place?
I was booking a tour from San Diego, CA to Portland, OR, making stops along the way. That’s when I found Vintage Wine Bar. Since then, I have become great friends with Janice, the owner of Vintage Wine Bar and Janel, who runs The Bridgehouse Bed and Breakfast right along the riverfront.
What do you think of our little hamlet?
I love it here. I’ve met some great people. On my last visit I met Abie Ehorn, a teacher from Evergreen Elementary School. On this trip, Abie is having me play an assembly on Friday for some of the students at her school. I’m really looking forward to that show.
What can the audience expect from you at Vintage?
Vintage is a wine bar, mellow, fairly laid back, and non-intrusive, so come have some wine, good food, and listen to some music without having your ears pounded.
Anything else you want readers to know?
This might be acoustic, but I’m not your typical singer songwriter. You’re going to get something a little different, a little more artistic.
See Aaron Bowen live, Saturday, Nov. 21, 8 p.m. at Vintage Wine Bar & Restaurant, 1790 Market Street, Redding. You can find more about Aaron and his tour at myspace.com/aaronbowen. His latest CD is available on itunes.
