Celebration of Life Set for Jim Siler, Cherished Redding Chevron Station Owner, McColl’s Dairy Milkman

James (Jim) Curtis Siler, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at the age of 92.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Irma, and grandson William. Jim is survived by sons Jim (wife Carol), George, and Bob (wife Nedra); seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Jim was born on September 3, 1932, in Santa Cruz, California. He was raised in Corning, California. While in high school, he met the love of his life, Irma Cambron. Jim and Irma married in 1953.

In 1956 they settled in Redding, California where they raised their three sons. Jim was a devoted family man, creating lasting memories with Irma and their sons: enjoying boating, waterskiing, fishing, love of riding and racing motorcycles, and hunting.

Jim’s favorite pastime was spending time on Shasta Lake with Irma, where they found peace and joy in the beauty of nature. Whether boating, fishing, or simply soaking in the scenery, he cherished every moment on the water.

His love and involvement with his family extended to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

Jim had dual careers in Redding; the first as a Chevron station owner, then as a milkman, delivering McColl’s Dairy products to homes with a warm smile that endeared him to his customers. His strong work ethic and friendly demeanor left a lasting impact on the Redding community.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Tues., Aug. 5, at Mountain Mike’s Pizza, 2727 Churn Creek Road in Redding.
