SUSPECTS(S): Montgomery, Pauline V. (age 19)
Ward, Vern Pro (age 19)
SYNOPSIS: On 03-07-2010 at 1346 hours (1:46 p.m.), there was an incomplete 911 call from the Roff Way address. It was later determined that Vern Pro Ward and Pauline Virginia Montgomery forced their way into Michael Furney’s residence. Both subjects grabbed knives from the kitchen. Montgomery held a knife to Furney’s throat and demanded his “dope.” Furney was punched in the face several times by Ward and fell to the floor as a result of the assault. Montgomery and Ward were later arrested
On 09-03-2010, Pauline Virginia Montgomery entered a “No Contest” plea to 245(a)(1) PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon and 459 PC – Burglary: Residential. The 211 PC – Robbery charges were dismissed. Montgomery was sentenced to 9 years state prison for this case.
On 04-11-2011, Vern Pro Ward entered a “No Contest Plea” to 459 PC – Burglary: Residential and 236 PC – False Imprisonment. The 211 PC – Robbery charges were dismissed. Ward was sentenced to 9 years state prison.
