Beautify Shasta River Trail Community Cleanup at Turtle Bay Bird Sanctuary

When: Saturday, December 6 Where: River Trail at Turtle Bay Bird Sanctuary meets at The Monolith south of the Sheraton hotel. Time: 8am – 12pm

Redding, CA, Beautify Shasta is hosting its largest volunteer cleanup of the year on Saturday, December 6, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This large-scale effort will focus on the river trail area near the Sheraton hotel and The Monolith, where several abandoned camps and high-impact litter zones have been identified just off the river trail in the Bird Sanctuary. Volunteers will meet at 8:00 AM in the parking lot south of the Sheraton Hotel, next to The Monolith, for sign-in and a safety briefing before heading out.

Beautify Shasta is proud to partner with the Shasta County Chamber, U-Prep School students, the City of Redding, and members of the Geocaching community for this important event. With support from these groups, organizers are anticipating over 30 volunteers, making this the biggest cleanup of the year.

City of Redding will be supporting debris disposal efforts on-site.

To date Beautify Shasta and in collaboration with community organizations and community members have collected over 4000 lbs of trash and volunteered over 5000 hours.
