Shasta College proudly announces its 71st Annual Art Student Exhibit, slated to run from April 15 to May 16. The event will showcase the exceptional talent of student artists and feature a diverse array of visual practices across various genres and media.
Renowned Northern California Ceramicist and Art Instructor at College of the Redwoods and CalPoly Humboldt, David Zdrazil (pronounced DRAY-zel), will serve as the juror for this year’s exhibition. With over 400 entries submitted by aspiring artists, Zdrazil will curate the exhibit, selecting the best pieces for display. Awards totaling over $2000 will be presented to honor the most exceptional artworks.
The exhibition will be housed in the Shasta College Art Gallery, open to the public from Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Additionally, attendees are invited to attend the Juror’s Lecture on Friday, April 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Room 804 on the Shasta College Main Campus.
The highlight of the event will be the Reception and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Shasta College Art Gallery. This celebratory occasion is free and open to all members of the public.
