New Survey to Better Allocate Public Funds Announced
REDDING, CA. January 26, 2021: Reinvest Redding has created a budget survey to gather information about how funds should be allocated in our community, @ https://reinvestredding.com/
The process of budget approval often happens without much public understanding or input. This survey will bring together and reveal the priorities of the citizens of Shasta County.
The survey will accomplish the following:
- Determine how actual citizens want their taxes/public funds used in Shasta County.
- Create a space for imagining a future that we can survive and thrive in.
- Empower residents to voice demands and priorities for our communities.
This survey provides context for the existing budgets for the City of Redding and Shasta County. It also gives you an opportunity to voice your values and think about how to allocate money to support them.
The survey is available online now. Reinvest Redding urges all of Shasta County to make their voices heard.

About Reinvest Redding: In response to the national call to reinvest in local communities by defunding inflated police budgets, Reinvest Redding formed to imagine what reinvestment could look like here in the North State. Through researching law enforcement budgets and exploring models for community support programs we are seeking versions of a safer and more equitable Shasta County.
