Riverfront Playhouse Board of Directors and volunteer staff have been working tirelessly, moving from the former East Cypress Street location to downtown Redding. The remodeling project began in mid August 2019 and is expected to be completed by the end of March. The 2020 Performance Season is scheduled to begin May 9th with the presentation of Clue the Comedy and will run weekends through June 13th. Tickets will go on sale soon depending on the effect of the CoronaVirus outbreak in Shasta and surrounding counties. The proposed opening date is subject to change as conditions require.

In the meantime we will make the new theatre building our home. A new and exciting face lift has been given to the building at 1950 California Street including completion of the auditorium featuring state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, new carpets, new seats and a spacious stage. Besides a beautiful Reception Gallery with a full service refreshment center featuring beer, wine and cocktails, there will be room for a rehearsal room, large ‘Green Room’ for the actors, set building shop costume/prop storage, laundry facility, administrative office suite, an art gallery for local artists, and so much more. We hope the community will support and enjoy this fantastic facility that has been 15 years in the making from dream to reality. The Riverfront Playhouse family is more than pleased to
bring vital community theatre to our great city.
