The Shasta County Superior Court is accepting applications from February 21, 2018 until April 13, 2018 to serve on the Shasta County Grand Jury for the term that runs from 6/28/18 to 6/29/19. The Grand Jury provides a vital independent committee watchdog function over local agencies within Shasta County including the County, the three cities, special districts and school districts.
The Grand Jury chooses its own investigation topics and publishes reports that highlight findings and makes recommendations for improvements. Interested Shasta County residents who are able to commit 15/20 hours per week to this effort should apply by April 13, 2018. Successful applicants will be interviewed and entered into a lottery to determine the 19 jurors plus alternates. There will be two Informational Meetings for people interested in being a Grand Juror. The meetings will be held at 3:00 p.m. on March 12th and April 4th at the Community Room next to the Redding City Council Chambers at 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California.
