Women’s March 2018

The Redding Women’s March 2018 will take place on Sunday, January 21, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at the Redding City Hall Circle, 777 Cypress Ave Redding CA.

This march is designed as a family friendly event, all ages, genders and underrepresented groups are encouraged to participate. There will be information tables staffed by organizations supporting women’s and family values; activities for those not able to march; and candidates for local, state and federal offices.

The March will begin at 12:30pm and continue across the Cypress St. Bridge to Bechelli Lane and return to Civic Plaza. Monitors will assure the direction and safety of the marchers. Participants are invited to bring signs, banners and flags.

Marchers are being invited from nine northern counties to the Redding Women’s March, which coincides with the National Women’s March the prior day. The 2017 Redding Women’s March drew over 300 participants.

The Redding Women’s March 2018 follows the mission and values of the National Women’s March, the response to the #metoo incidents that have been taking place across the nation, the threats to health care costs and availability and the degradation of political conversations as part of civic life.

  1. Why is this Redding event planned for a different date than the rest of California??

Neither link in this article work. The first one should be: https://www.womensmarch.com/mission

The second one should probably be this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/shastawomentogether/
but you are forced to login in order to see the page, so I didn’t look at it. This is a sloppy post, maybe they typed in the wrong day/date, too???

And, I thought I posted this once, but I see it is not here: ALL the Women’s Marches are on Saturday 20 JAN, throughout the US, not on Sunday. So what is with that? Thanks for the heads up on this Joanne.
