Happy New Year to All!… should be an interesting January 2018. The ongoing Investigation should continue to take the headlines with the Admin’s top priority to deflect and project. We still have at least 4-5 sealed indictments yet and let us not forget about indictment “A” that has not been opened up yet.

The left says…..”Lock him up”…..the right says “It’s all a conspiracy by the left”….. time will tell and it just may be that 17% that end up making the call out of #45’s base! The 15% will not change their opinion….regardless of what #45 does!

Once 45’s numbers dip below 30% there will be a re-evaluation and talk about the Mid Terms…..then things really should get interesting. What could possibly make his numbers dip below 30%?….. a Tape…..released in the near future of some events that happened in Russia years ago…… It’s called….Kompromat.

Happy New Year all. In California the sale of recreational marijuana will bring in millions, maybe billions in taxes. In Wyoming there was an 800% increase, that is not a misprint Wyofile confirms it, in oil/gas leases sold last year so 2018 will be a fracking good year. I have already seen that here in Cheyenne. Also Boeing, AT&T, Bancorp, Wells Fargo and many other businesses have said they will raise employee wages because of the savings they will receive from the new tax bill.

Cryptocurrencies ….just a fad or a way to Wealth? I gave Tim a Tip about 3 weeks ago on Stellar Lumens (XLM)…….I am up 500% since then…….hoping others are beginning to see it’s not just Bitcoin that can lead to gains.

There is a short window into the pennies as I call them…..remember Bitcoin was .00001 when it first started out….today….its around $13,400.

While most Penny Crypto’s won’t ever become a Bitcoin in value….Bitcoin is limited by its Technology and the only reason it is a household word is because it was the first!

    To your Wealth and Timing!

“North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the ‘Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.’ Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”

That’s our President Donald J. Trump’s tweet from yesterday.

While everyone seems to be concerned about the infantile nuclear brinksmanship, my thoughts are centered on a question: Is “Nuclear Button” Trump’s euphemism for micropenis?

Yuba and Siskiyou Counties have similar problems. Will Shasta and Lassen and others follow also by saying NO to 64? It was pretty simple folks…..didn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure it out….when you say NO not in my backyard ( No to Prop 64) you have No state money to clean up or abate these illegal grows! No Government Grants from the State and NO tax money!

So Shasta County…What is your Plan to Offset the Lost Millions in Tax Revenues? What is your Plan to get the money to clean up these Illegal Grows/environmental issues in our County? What is your Plan to create Jobs….the Jobs lost by saying NO? and last but not least….What is your plan to replace the Lost Millions in State Grants??? We are Waiting….

We will be seeing more Consequences to the just say NO attitude…..meanwhile in Colorado… money is flowing….unemployment is down and tourism is up…..amazing!

Redding’s K-Mart will close in April, just one more in a long line of closings from Sears Holding Company. The beleaguered retail company has not posted a profit since 2011 and has been shedding stores and assets to fund continuing operations.

Total store count will drop to 940, down from 3,510 six years ago. Redding’s Sears survived this latest round, though its long term outlook remains bleak. Chico’s Sears and Eureka’s Kmart both closed last year…

  7. Common Sense says:

Well here we are….the first week into the new year and we can throw out the word “Collusion”. It was a good word explaining some of the crimes against our Country but now we have a more Poignant word to start talking about….”Treason”. Thank you Steve Bannon for bringing this word to light so the many that have doubled down can now start to process what is coming….. Denial….it can be strong at times.

What’s next on Fox News? REPORTER ” ….is Treason….such a bad thing……and what if he Did ummm do some things… umm …..would that really matter….should it really matter….. I mean….we all know…..well at least those of us with severe Cognitive Dissonance….that it was the Liberals that engineered this whole thing….right…it was Hillary….and Comey….and the Libs….yeah….that was it….and those emails…from 5 years ago…and….. the Little Elf Sessions and…..

Here we are finishing the first week in 2018. Already the residents of east Cheyenne have protested about the increase of fracking truck traffic racing down their residential streets. In Colorado the battle between rural and urban areas over fracking just keeps getting more intensive. Last year there was an 800% increase of oil/gas leases in Wyoming. Mineral extraction, a double edged sword, in Wyoming and Colorado, including coal, is rebounding because of less cost, IE; less labor. Fewer jobs means less nomads from out of state to take jobs that are going to locals. The Trump train is rolling down the tracks creating well paying jobs and bringing in much tax dollars to the horror of Democrats. Lighthouse Coal, which already exports coal to Asia through Canadian ports, is once again suing Washington state to open a coal export terminal in Seattle only this time they are being joined by unions who are tired of losing union jobs to Canada. Have the Democrats lost the union support?
Who will stop the Trump train? Steve Bannon who is backing Kelli Chemtrail Ward in Arizona and Rex Rammell in Wyoming who says the only way to save America is for the states to take over federal lands. What’s next for Bannon, declaring the Bundys the new Camelot family? Steve Bannon has zero credibility.
Tick…..Tick When will the Democrats wake up?

Almost every state in the Intermountain West is booming, with growing populations, except one: Wyoming. Dead last in the United States in terms of percent population loss, whereas neighbor Idaho is #1 in population gain.

The culprit is Wyoming’s dogged determination to keep nearly all of its economic eggs in the hydrocarbon extraction basket. Meanwhile, neighboring states like Idaho, Colorado, Montana and Utah continue to diversify their economies. Fear of the unfamiliar and bull-headed stubbornness delivering economic stagnation. Sound familiar, Shasta County?

      • cheyenne says:

Steve, the areas in Wyoming that are losing population are the coal areas where the nomad outsiders were. These were not native Wyomingites but nomad energy workers. Here in southeast Wyoming population is increasing for two reasons. Denver refugees are moving in because of high prices in the front range. A real estate article in the Denver Post pointed that out. The second reason is fracking is going gung ho here and northern Colorado. Mineral extraction is still going on but with cheaper costs, less labor.
KBeck, We are leaving Wyoming because of the high altitude not because of air quality. Cheyenne, according to the American Lung Association, is the #1 cleanest air city in the nation and Wyoming is the cleanest air state. This is threatened by the over populating Colorado front range as their air is getting dirtier and creeping into Wyoming.

    • K. Beck says:

Are you the person who is leaving Wyoming because your wife cannot breathe there? Yet you tout coal mining/burning?…like the idea of numerous big rigs burning diesel on residential streets? Odd, seems to me. Enjoy your ride on the Trump Train!

In the latest NFL speculation and guessing game is where will Tom Brady, if he is released/quits New England, will end up. He is from San Mateo. Could the Niners, with the Raiders going to Vegas, be his final stop. He says he wants to play until he is 45, that’s four more years.

    • Steve Towers Steve Towers says:

I think the Niners believe they’re good with what they’ve got. I’ll bet Denver would take Brady in a heartbeat. They won their last Super Bowl with a Payton Manning who was far more washed up than Tom.

Regardless, my bet would be that Hoody goes before Tom.

  10. Beverly Stafford says:

I’m posting this in a couple of places so that everyone will know how contrite I am.

Okay, since I’ve offended about half the of diners on A New Café because of my very poorly worded post which made me sound like a raging racist (I shouldn’t write when I first arise, obviously), I’m going to do penance by forfeiting the Doni-baked treat that I won in the January drawing. I’ll ask Doni to draw a sixth name and present “my” cake to another lucky diner. Mea culpa to all – especially to those who upbraided me.

    • No penance necessary, Beverly. The dessert is yours. It’s a token of my gratitude for your support of Thank you.

As one who has put his foot in his mouth numerous times, I think you should follow the advice Clemenza from the movie “The Godfather.”

Robert Mueller to Potentially Interview #45 in the next 10 days. For a guy that has lied and/or misstated the facts over 1628 times in a year and has a serious mental issue or two….what could possibly good wrong.

You know what they say….always save the best for the last!

P.S -You only interview the target when you are at the :End of the Investigation….. Indictment “A”….here we come!

I just saw this clip, priceless:

I ran for elected office (Delegate to CA Dem Party) a few times and was required to swear allegiance to the US Constitution. There were no religious books anywhere to be found. Of course, this was sort of the bottom of the political barrel, but none-the-less.

  13. K. Beck says:

    • Quotation of the day (NYT)

“It’s sort of an America-last tax policy. We are basically saying that if you earn in the U.S., you pay X, and if you earn abroad, you pay X divided by two.”

    — Kimberly Clausing, an economist, describing how the new federal tax law could actually make it attractive for American multinational companies to put more assembly lines on foreign soil.

  14. cheyenne says:

And while #45 appears to be a blithering idiot the Trump train is on the move.
Reorganizing the interior depts. and moving them out of DC into the interior should have been done long ago. Denver real estate is sky high but the BLM offices will find cheaper diggings there.
WalMart is joining AT&T, Bankcorp, Boeing, Wells Fargo and others in raising employees wages and benefits because of the tax savings from the GOP tax plan. Warren Buffet is investing in west Phoenix real estate because of positive business incentives from Trump.
A new requirement that able bodied Medicaid recipients work is in the works. Shasta County does not need to worry as they are in California and this requirement will let each state decide on their own and California would never force it’s poor to work.
Even when they screw up, as Sessions did with his attack on MJ, there is a positive result coming. With every single public official in Colorado and many other states protesting against Sessions the general consensus is that DC will finally resolve the MJ classification, not kick the can down the road like Obama did.
The Trump train rolls on. Hopefully they will lose some of the real idiots on the tracks. Idiots like former Sheriff Arpaio who wants to become Senator Arpaio and stated today that President Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery.

    • Steve Towers Steve Towers says:

Cheyenne — Kick the can down the road like Obama did? Nah. Obama did what he could do……he made enforcement of federal laws against growing, possessing, and selling MJ a zero priority (except for growing it on federal land). It was Congress that did nothing—it’s only Congress now that can change the law.

Where would you set the odds of the current Congress acting to put the legal status of MJ in the hands of the states, relative to the next Congress (which will likely be much more Democratic following a huge anti-Trump backlash)? I’ll go with 2 in 10 (20%) for the current Congress, and 8 in 10 (80%) for the next.

      • Common Sense says:

Good point Steve! Obama’s hands would have been tied had he tried to do anything other than what he did. The Trillion Dollar “War on Drugs” has been an Abysmal Failure…. but Sessions hasn’t been able to work through his “Cognitive Dissonance” on the topic….and quite frankly….never will!

With the RX industry sitting at around a $550 Billion Dollar a year Cash Machine……legalizing a plant that can cut into their profits in a BIG way is not coming anytime soon….there is just TOO much money at stake!

I laugh Everytime I hear the war cry….”we need to find the cure for Cancer”!
Donate now….NO….we need to Legalize the Cure for Cancer…..we HAVE the cure…..

      • cheyenne says:

If only Congress can change MJ laws what is the uproar over Sessions announcement about. He is not Congress. And I think the Democrats are going to be caught clueless again, like in the 2016 election, because they think the 2018 elections are already over in their favor.

Diane Feinstein had enough…now everyone can see why the GOP didn’t want this released…..Oooopppsss!

Fusion GPS is still working on this topic…..the question is….who is still paying them?

  17. Common Sense says:

Why Jeff Sessions might have just put a nail in the Republican Coffin for the 2018 Midterms!

Sessions is caught up still in the Reefer Madness Movies and thinking. The American People have Changed Their minds on the topic. By going Backwards on what the People Want…..this will surely not help the GOP in the Midterms.

When the Majority of Republicans (51%) in American Now Want Cannabis Legalized and you still have the Dem’s (74%) want it legalized you can see the tidal wave forming in the Ocean….

Heck in Shasta County….The Board of Supervisors can’t even keep up with what their Country’s OWN Constituents want!!

Get out and Vote when the time comes Folks…….that’s all I can say……

    • cheyenne says:

Sessions MJ position will finally get the government to legalize, officially, MJ. They predict, in The Cannabis, legal MJ will bring in $125 billion in taxes and create one million jobs. No more past practice, kick the can down the road policies of President Obama. As far as Shasta County, they are in the same limbo as other states and counties, MJ is illegal in the fed’s eyes. Once the Trump administration legalizes MJ the Obama grey rules will be gone and there will be no more reasons to not bring MJ mainstream. And there are a lot more than 51% of Republicans that want it legalized. Being hesitant to legalize MJ rules because of the feds views is not against it but being cautious.

  20. Dear ones, if you’ve never played Robert Burke’s reviews, today is a classic example of this young man’s wit and knowledge about movies. In this review he lists the worst movies of 2017, but not only is it a list, but a comprehensive break-down of what got each movie on his list.

Personally, I like to play his review as I’m cooking or puttering around. He always makes me laugh, and he always teaches me something about movies. I forget that he’s a teenager. This guy knows his stuff!
