Live Music in the North State: December 6 – December 12

 

The North State Symphony will perform their 2017 holiday concert at the State Theatre Saturday, December 9, with another performance taking place at All Saints Episcopal Church in Redding on Sunday, December 10.

 

This week marks the third anniversary of the Live Music in the North State column, which was born after local performing songwriter Jonathan Foster plied me with beer and said, “Y’know, what we need around here is one place to find out who’s playing and where.” Thanks, Jonathan. I think.

Wednesday, December 6

Gunshy at Three Shastas Bar & Grill (Red Lion Hotel) in Redding, beginning at 8 p.m. (530) 221-8700.

Mumblefinger at Enjoy the Store in Red Bluff, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Mumblefinger will play Enjoy the Store most Wednesday evenings. All ages. (530) 727-9016.

In Paradise, the “Open Mikefull” group hosts an open mic at the Norton Buffalo Hall. Signups at 6:45 p.m. This open mic normally happens each Wednesday evening. All ages. Admission $2. 5704 Chapel Drive in Paradise.

    Unfortunately, this show has been postponed by the tour. Redding Civic Auditorium has not been given a new date at this time. All purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled show, but refunds are available at the box office (700 Auditorium Drive, Redding // Tues-Fri 11-5).
