Steven Irey, PA-C, Helping Keep Patients Active at Dignity Health Medical Group North State

Steven Irey loves the sport of fly fishing. The quiet solitude of it allows for both relaxation and extreme focus, traits he brings to his position as a certified physician assistant in orthopedic spine surgery. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Alabama. His surgical physician assistant degree came from the University of Alabama as well. At Dignity Health Medical Group North State, his love of the field and dedication to helping keep people active makes him a valuable member of the team.

Mr. Irey says: “I think there’s a growing need for specialists in orthopedic spine surgery, especially as the population ages. My generation, and the ones that came after me, are very active and with activity sometimes comes pain and pathology. A lot of times patients don’t feel anyone will listen to them or that their pain levels are understood. I think by allowing them time to discuss their individual issues and how those issues affect their daily lives we can help get people back to active lives again. I’m proud to be part of the extraordinary team doing that.”
