Thunderation! 38th Annual Adobe Day Coming to Ide Adobe State Historic Park

Ide Adobe

The 38th annual Adobe Day will take place at William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park in Red Bluff from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Thunderation! will be the sentiment for this year’s Adobe Day where we will recapture 1850s pioneer life at the Adobe Homestead, including a few calamities. Park staff and volunteers wearing costumes from the California Gold Rush era will be there to greet you as you cross the Bridge of Time to arrive in the year 1852.

Adobe Day offers an opportunity for family and friends to gather for an old-fashioned day of fun along the banks of the Sacramento River. Come discover what it was like to be a part of the rough-and-tumble times of early California. Visitors will be invited to participate in adobe brick-making, rope-making, cornhusk doll making, log sawing, candle-making, quilting, and dancing the Virginia reel. Children may also enjoy participating in some rousing pioneer games, purchasing a “sweet” at the General Store, or enjoying a show at the puppet theater.

. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 4 to 17. Children under 4 will be admitted free. A family rate for up to five people is also available for $10.
