Learn how to identify wildflowers using the plant family method in a wildflower identification workshop presented by the Shasta Chapter of California Native Plant Society. This three-evening workshop taught by David Ledger will cover the important parts and shapes of flowers, leaves and fruits of plants. Several plant families will be covered each meeting depending on flowers that are currently in bloom. Fresh wildflowers will be brought to each session for identification and dissection. An optional fieldtrip will be held on a weekend date. Cost for three sessions and the fieldtrip is $28 which includes a book on plant families and a 10x magnifying glass. Workshops are limited to 16 people and are from 6 to 8 pm at the Community Room at Holiday Market at 3315 Placer St. on March 6, 22, and 29. Pre-registration is required.
