Please join me in welcoming a new feature to A News Cafe.com: Artist Chuck Prudhomme's art column about some of the north state's most beautiful natural settings. Thank you, Chuck.
Normally I travel around the North State and the North Coast in search of that special spot that catches my eye for a painting that I paint on location, or later in my studio.
During these jaunts I have discovered numerous beautiful spots, all within a three-hour drive of Redding, which to me makes a very nice day trip to include time for a nice picnic, a short hike, or perhaps just sitting there and soaking up the moment, which is a rare commodity in this busy world of ours.
In sharing these gems I hope to give you a glimpse into the beauty of our little corner of the world around Redding. You may be familiar with many of them but perhaps it will give you the urge to step away from the virtual world into the natural world if even for a moment. Enjoy!
