The Shasta Family YMCA begins its Annual Fundraising Campaign which runs from March 3 through April 16, 2016. The Annual Campaign is the Y’s major fundraising effort that raises funds needed to continue critical community partnerships with other non-profits and to provide financial assistance to ensure that everyone has the opportunity for a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

During 2015, the Shasta Family YMCA was able to provide over $158,000 in financial assistance to over 1,000 local individuals, families, and seniors, which allowed for facility memberships, swim lessons, youth programs, child care and camps. Our goal is that no one is turned away due to the inability to pay.

This years campaign is For a better us, designed to help our community gain a better understanding of all the programs and resources the Y provides, and to inspire others to help fund the important work the Y does every day.

“The Y is a positive force in this community” says Kristen Lyons, CEO. “Together, we take on the challenges that shape our County’s future – from tackling the achievement gap to teaching healthy habits for a life time, everything the Y does is in service of building a better us.”

The 2016 Annual Campaign will kick off with a celebration on Thursday, March 3rd from 5:30 – 6:30pm at the Y facility, located at 1155 N. Court Street, and is open to all who are interested in learning more about the Y.
