Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Anderson’s “Gateway to the City”

ANDERSON – The City of Anderson will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Deschutes Road Roundabout and Interchange Project, the first of its kind on a State highway in District 2, on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

The $5.2 million project includes a new off-ramp from northbound I-5 at Deschutes Road and a roundabout intersection providing access to the northbound I-5 ramps(exit 667B), Deschutes Road and Locust Road.

This City of Anderson project is supported by the Shasta Regional Transportation Agency and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 2. It was designed to reduce travel time by providing direct northbound access to the west side of Anderson, improve commercial trucking access, and accommodate anticipated development within the City of Anderson for at least the next two decades.

Anderson City Manager Jeff Kiser, City of Anderson Mayor James Yarbrough and Caltrans District 2 Director John Bulinski will be available for interviews following the ribbon cutting ceremony. Media should park in the empty parcel on the east side of Locust Street.
