Kiwanis Club of Yreka Dinner & Big Band Dance at Winema Hall – May 31st

Does having fun while helping our local youth sound like a good idea to you? Does dancing to Big Band music and great food interest you? Then, grab your honey and gather friends and family to attend the 1st Annual Kiwanis Club of Yreka DINNER DANCE featuring the SISKIYOU BIG BAND and a delicious Top Sirloin/Chicken Dinner prepared by Kermith Walters to take place on Friday, May 31, 6 to 11:30 pm at Winema Hall, Siskiyou Golden Fair Grounds.

Kiwanians Karen Evans and Clarence Barger presented their bright idea to the Club early this year and planning began for the Club’s most ambitious fundraiser of all.The Big Band Dinner Dance will fuel the club’s community service projects and donations to a large complement of needs and activities that enrich the lives of children and strengthen families. Many of you may know a Kiwanian or two but may not know of the time, hard work, and dedication they freely give. To be a Kiwanian is to dedicate yourself to changing the world one child and one community at a time. No Host Social Hour begins at 6 pm followed by a delicious top sirloin/chicken dinner with all the trimmings prepared by Kermith Walters. Then get “In the Mood” for dancing to the 25 piece Siskiyou Big Band till 11:30 pm. Not a dancer? They’re great to watch and so are the dancers!

Clarence Barger, Director of the Siskiyou Big Band, says, “Music has always been one of the most important components of my life. Since my early teens, I have been deeply involved with Big Band music. My love and devotion to music continues to lead me to spend many hours working with heart-filled musicians such as the ones I work with today. I am proud of each and every one of these musicians in the band. I greatly enjoy spending my time making people happy with music and I would like to give a tremendous thank you to all the band members and community supporters who have made Siskiyou Big Band a dream come true.“ Visit siskiyoubigband.org for videos, photos and more about the Siskiyou Big Band.”

The Dinner Dance is $25 per person. Only 280 tickets will be sold in advance. Tickets are available by calling 530-340-1426, or 530-598-0466 for Will Call.
