Early detection is critical in treating breast cancer. The Mercy Regional Cancer Center will host a free breast cancer screening for qualifying women 40-years of age and older who meet the eligibility requirements for the Every Woman Counts – Breast Cancer Early Detection Program. The screening will take place on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
The breast cancer screening involves three components:
Mammogram – an X-ray of your breasts can be a powerful way to detect breast cancer in its earliest, most treatable stage.
Breast Self Examination Education – provided by a Mercy oncology nurse.
Clinical Breast Examination – a physician or affiliated health care provider will conduct the examination.
