THURSDAY UPDATE – From Coats to Cut-offs: Cold Today and Tonight; 70 Degrees by the Weekend

The cold winter storm that has brought rain and snow to our area is now moving eastward.

The Redding area could see a few light showers until the early afternoon, but skies will be clearing after dark.

Snow levels Wednesday night got down to about 1000 feet and today will be near1500 feet, but any precipitation amounts will be light.

Tonight will be clear and cold but most of the Redding area should have light to moderate north winds which will help keep the air stirred up and the temperatures above freezing.

Those isolated areas where the winds go calm will drop into the upper 20s.

High pressure will be back along the coast Friday through the weekend and this will bring warming and drying.

On Saturday and Sunday Redding will see high temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Gusty north winds are expected Friday through Saturday afternoon.   Another weak storm will bring showers and possible thunderstorms to the north valley next Tuesday.
