On 10-17-11, at approximately 0830, Deputies from the Burney Division with assistance of the Marijuana Eradication Team (MET) executed a search warrant at a location on Day Rd in McArthur. The search warrant was in response to an investigation stemming from information received that Christopher Staffin, a Felon, was in possession of firearms at the property he was staying at. Firearms and numerous rounds of ammunition were located as a result of the search warrant. Staffin was not present during the search.
At approximately 2155, Staffin was located driving his vehicle in the Burney area. A vehicle stop was conducted and with the assistance of Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Chase”, Staffin was arrested for Felon in Possession of a firearm and Felon in possession of ammunition charges without incident. A subsequent search of Staffin’s vehicle revealed several pounds of processed and bulk marijuana. Items in the vehicle were also located consistent with marijuana sales. The Narcotic Offense charges will be filed with the District Attorney’s Office.
Staffin was booked into Shasta County Jail.
