Update: Suspect in Pot Collective Robbery Turns Himself in

Wanted by police: Joshua Don Wright

On Thursday, September 15, 2011, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers and investigators of the Redding Police Department responded to the “Trusted Friends” marijuana collective located at 1943 Pine Street for an armed robbery.

Employees at the business reported that two male subjects entered the business and that one of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The suspects demanded cash and marijuana from the employees before fleeing from the business. A check of the area was unsuccessful in locating the suspects.

One of the suspects is described as a light skinned black male with his face concealed and carrying an unknown handgun, which was pointed at the employees. He is approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, wearing a dark jacket and green plaid pajama style pants.

The second suspect is described as being a black male, also with his face concealed, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket and baggy blue pants. Both suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Several witnesses were contacted and interviewed by officers and investigators during this investigation. The possibility that this robbery could be connected to other robberies of marijuana collectives is being investigated at this time, however, is yet to be determined.

One suspect has been identified as Joshua Don Wright, 19 years, of Redding. He is a black male adult, 5 foot 6 inches tall and approximately 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Joshua Wright is wanted in connection with this robbery and should be considered armed and dangerous.
