Shasta County’s Northern Hispanic Latino Coalition announces its annual Latino Independence Fiesta and Family Fair will be back on Sunday, September 11, 2011, from noon to 5 p.m. Come enjoy the coolness at Anderson River Park, and come enjoy the heat of passionate Latino fun, food and friendship. While donations to help continue the event are gladly accepted in these trying times, the 15th annual Latino Family Fair is FREE once more.
There will be raffles, prizes, kid’s activities, great health & resource information, music, dancing, food and, by popular demand, the talented Mexican Cowboys (Jinetes) and their horses return to the Latino Fair! They will be demonstrating horsemanship like no other! (In keeping with the family theme, this is an alcohol- and smoke-free event).
This September 11, tributes will be given to those who fell, served and suffered as a result of the WTC, Pentagon and United Flight-93 tragedies on 9/11/01. With great respect to our own local law enforcement and EMS professionals – five vendor and outreach booth spaces will be provided free of charge by the Latino Coalition for their service to us all.
Sponsors for this year’s event include Shasta County Public Health, Redding Rancheria, Shasta College, and the Roberts Foundation. For more information, please feel welcome to visit us at northernhispaniclatinocoalition.org or by calling Marge at 241-7833 or Sylvia at 225-3748.
