Online Bill Payment Can Help During City Hall Closures

With regular City Hall closures as part of an ongoing furlough program, residents who normally pay bills in person may wish to take advantage of electronic payment options.

The next scheduled closure of City Hall is this Friday (September 9). The closures affect all departments within City Hall, including the Utility Customer Service Center, as well as the Recreation Offices on Parkview Avenue.

Electronic utility bill payment options include the Automatic Payment Plan, which allows customers to pay their bills through electronic funds transfers. Customers also may pay bills each month individually through the Redding Electric Utility web site. More information is available at

A complete list of the Friday furlough dates through 2011 is available on the city’s web site at

And don't forget the drop boxes located a City Hall, where you can drop off your payment on or before the due date of your bill, even after 5PM. The most convenient drop box is located in the circular driveway in front of City Hall, 3/4 of the way around the driveway. Just pull up in your car and slip your payment into the box, that's it!
