High pressure will be along the west coast or over the western U.S. through the period. So the short version of the 10 day forecast is: warmer … cooler … warmer. Redding will be sunny throughout.
Thursday (the 1st), Redding will have high temperatures in the upper 90s. Friday and Saturday will be a little warmer with highs 98 to 102. Sunday and Monday will see a little cooling with high temperatures back down to the mid to upper 90s. Tuesday (the 6th) through the 10th will be sunny and hot with high temperatures back to 98 to 102. Minimum temperatures will be in the 60s. Gusty north winds will be felt Thursday (the 1st) through midday Friday (the 2nd).

Chris Fontana, aka The Old Forecaster, started his career as a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS) in Sacramento. After four years as a weather officer in the U.S. Air Force, Chris transferred to the NWS office in Redding, where he was the meteorologist in charge from 1976 until the office closed in 1996. From 1996 until his 2005 retirement, he was the meteorologist in charge of the U.S. Forest Service Predictive Service Unit. Chris and his wife Jane have been married over 40 years and he works as a window covering installer in her business, Westwood Window Coverings.
