The second regular closure of Redding City Hall will occur on Friday (July 15) as part of the city’s ongoing furlough program.
Employees who work at City Hall and the Recreation Center on Parkview Avenue are being furloughed without pay every other Friday (beginning July 1), saving the city’s general fund approximately $900,000. The closures affect all departments within City Hall, including the Utility Customer Service Center.
Residents who normally pay utility bills at City Hall may wish to take advantage of electronic payment options, such as the Automatic Payment Plan, which allows customers to pay their bill through electronic funds transfers. Customers also may pay bills each month individually through the Redding Electric Utility web site. More information is available at www.reupower.com.
A complete list of the Friday furlough dates through 2011 is available on the City’s web site at www.cityofredding.info. Reminders also will be placed in the monthly Redding Connects utility newsletter.
