After last year’s sold-out success in Redding, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus is back, sounding better than ever with 120 voices and a brand new repertoire. Presenting the very best of its sold-out San Francisco season, the Chorus will entertain your senses and touch your heart. Experience ravishingly gorgeous music set to awe-inspiring words in Act 1 and then, in Act 2, kick up your cowboy-booted heels for some good ol’ country tunes. You’ve never heard D-I-V-O-R-C-E like this!

This year the Chorus features a new, internationally acclaimed, conductor: Dr. Timothy Seelig

The Chorus also features a new internationally acclaimed conductor, Dr. Timothy Seelig. Besides his duties leading the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, Dr. Seelig is a singer, teacher and motivational speaker. He is also Conductor Emeritus of the Turtle Creek Chorale, founder of the Women’s Chorus of Dallas and Resounding Harmony. He has written several books, served on the faculty of Southern Methodist University for 14 years, and has two solo recordings.

Organized in 1978, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus was the world’s first gay-identified choral organization, and is still going strong more than 30 years later, featuring more than 270 members, about half of which will make the trip to Redding to perform on the Cascade Theatre stage.

Concert attendees are invited to attend a reception directly following the show, offering complimentary light refreshments and an opportunity to meet members of the chorus. The chorus has also committed to donate a portion of proceeds from the Redding event to the Shasta-Trinity-Tehama HIV Food Bank.
