Pot Raids Remove 82,704 Plants, Arrest 3, Seize Guns

CRIME/INCIDENT: Marijuana Cultivation

LOCATION: Shasta County

SUSPECTS: Sergio Raul Ledesma-Araiza, 26 years

Adolfo Rosales-Villa, 21 years

Heraclio Ramirez-Gomes, 27 years

SYNOPSIS:  Starting June 21 and ending June 30, 2011, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Eradication Team conducted marijuana eradication operations throughout Shasta County.

During the operations, a total of 82,704 marijuana plants were eradicated, 3 arrests were made and 3 weapons were seized. The weapons were an SKS assault type rifle, 12 gauge sawed-off shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle. Charges of 11358 H&S, 11359 H&S, 148(A)(1) PC and 12023 PC will be filed against all three suspects.

Assisting in the operations were officers, deputies and agents from: C.A.M.P. (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting), Redding Police Department, Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, California Department of Fish and Game, National Parks Service and the United States Forest Service.
