Like the blacksmith has a forge, the wordsmith has a workshop. In this setting, poetry is written, read, critiqued, and perfected. Come and practice the art of metaphor, try your hand at a sestina or villanelle, workshop poems in a graduate-school setting, find joy in revision, meet poets through their writing, and learn how and where to effectively submit your work. The course culminates in a poetry reading where you can share your words with others. Whether you’re 18 or 80, a beginner or long-time writer, you can watch your words take new shape and beauty.
