SUSPECT: Saydyk, Jacob – wma 27 years, City of Shasta Lake
VICTIM: Poole, Cassandra – wfa 22 years
LOCATION: Washington and Shasta Street, City of Shasta Lake.
NARRATIVE: On 11-28-2010, at 0355 hours, City of Shasta Lake Deputies Tumelson and
Reynolds responded to a report of a traffic accident at the corner of Washington and Shasta Streets. Upon
arrival, deputies found Jacob Saydyk and Cassandra Poole sitting in the middle of Washington Street next
to their vehicle. The driver, Saydyk, was driving while intoxicated and failed to negotiate the 90 degree
turn at the bottom of Washington Street, impacting a large oak tree with the front of his ‘91 GMC pickup.
The impact hurled both occupants forward causing injuries to both parties. Saydyk and Poole were both
transported to the hospital for their injuries. Poole remained in emergency surgery at the time of this
report.
Saydyk will be charged with felony DUI and driving on a suspended license.
