Turtle Bay Hosts Two Family Events Saturday

What: Two events featured on Family Second Saturday

When: Nov 13, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Turtle Bay Exploration Park

Family 2nd Saturday: Comic Book Craze! from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No! It’s you! Mickey Mouse, Superman and The Simpsons started as ideas scribbled on paper. Will you be the creator of the next hit comic character? Come dressed as your favorite comic book character, and try your hand at creating comics. Design a costume and dress a paper figure of your heroine/hero in her/his new cape and mask and other comic activities.

Family 2nd Saturday: DRAW! From Paper to Etch-A-Sketch to iPad!, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Join artist Elizabeth McClellan for the evolution of drawing mediums and a unique look at new possibilities for artists offered by iPad technology. McClellan will share her drawing secrets and give students the chance to try them out. See how Etch-A-Sketch and the iPad are similar, and bring yours to this family-focused hands-on event.

Both events are free with Park admission, $14 for adults and $10 for children/seniors. Or, families can take advantage of Turtle Bay’s special Family Second Saturday Family Adventure Pass for $35, valid for up to five family members, with a maximum of two adults. (Each additional family member pays full park admission.)
