Redding, CA – For the month of November, RABA, KRCR TV, Rabobank, and KCNR Radio are partnering to salute the veterans of Shasta County. There are more than 10,000 veterans in Redding, Anderson and Shasta Lake; men and women who have served their country with pride. Hundreds of these veterans are in need of transportation to and from work, support services and medical facilities.
The Salute to Veterans partners are asking the community to join us by making a donation, large or small. Every dollar raised will be used to purchase free RABA bus passes for veterans.
Chuck Aukland, Assistant Director of Public Works, said, “As Americans living in a country where we’re free, we sometimes take for granted the men and women who have made sacrifices for that freedom … our veterans. We can never do enough to repay our veterans, but this is our chance to help make their day-to-day lives easier.”
Make a donation by check at Rabobank (1335 Hilltop Drive in Redding or 5026 Rhonda Road in Anderson), or call the Northern California Veterans Museum and Heritage Center at 530-378-2280 to donate by credit card. It’s an easy way for us to help our local veterans who have done so much for us.
