The public is invited to meet author Peter Edridge on Saturday, May 1st, 6:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. at the Igo Store, 6490 Placer St. in Igo, when he presents his newly published book, “Burning Bears Fall From the Sky” – about leaving his affluent urbanite life in the Bay Area and moving to a derelict shack on a mountainside near Igo.
It is a book about the small community of Igo and one man’s transition from a city to a country life; a humorous story of trials and tribulations, people and characters, insights and reflections that, through too many adventures, tell an intricate tale about change and discovery later in life.
Fittingly, the book’s opening is being held at the Igo Store and Beer Bar, the scene of many of the stories in “Burning Bears.” So if you have ever wondered about the small town of Igo, a mere eight miles from Redding but in ways a world apart, then this could be your chance to spend some time with both the people of this wonderful community and the author.
