Pilgrim Congregational UCC Church – 2850 Foothill Blvd., Redding, CA

Research the past 50 years has turned up some surprising discoveries that overturn previous assumptions about our religion, and about Jesus in particular.

If you stay away from church because it fails to speak to the problems of everyday life,  you might be interested in the changes that are beginning to occur.

Pilgrim Congregational UCC Church is searching into these findings of modern scholars to offer better ways of speaking to its community. One recent way is to take another look at the Bible’s New Testament itself – to research once again the origins of the four gospels and why only four out of approximately 50 existing gospels ended up being chosen at the time.

Between now and the Christmas holidays we will offer a showing of a DVD series which investigates especially those gospels that were left out of the New Testament – to discern what they said, why they were omitted, and why some might be reconsidered in light of today’s world.

These are being shown at our church each Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon (they started Oct. 25) . You are cordially invited to drop by. For more information, call 243-3121.
