Ghostly sunrise

Matt Grigsby
Matt Grigsby was born and raised in Redding but has often felt he should have been born in Italy. By day he's a computer analyst toiling for the public good and by night he searches airline websites for great travel deals. His interests include books, movies, prowling thrift shops for treasure and tricking his friends into cooking for him. One day he hopes to complete his quest in finding the best gelato shop in Italy.

what is that thing that looks like a boat…driftwood…?

    • Matthew Grigsby says:

A big driftwood log with a bunch of branches stacked on it. But it certainly does look like a boat.

I took some out-of-the-area friends to Shasta Caverns shortly after all the rain storms subsided. Shasta Lake was 100% covered with tree debris and other human-made trash. It was an amazing sight. The boat had to go at it’s lowest speed in case it ran into a huge log just under the surface. The lake clean up process before the water gets to the dam must be horrendous. I suspect they are still at it.
