Live Music in the North State: August 9 – August 15

Janie Seeger and her band Kickin' It will host the ToeJamz open mic and jam Sunday, August 13, from noon until 4 p.m. The event takes place at the Moose Family Center in Anderson.

Janie Seeger and her band Kickin’ It will host the ToeJamz open mic and jam Sunday, August 13, from noon until 4 p.m. The event takes place at the Moose Family Center in Anderson. Janie’s duo Covergirl will play Dry Creek Station in Bella Vista the previous evening, Saturday, April 12.

Sundays and Mondays are usually the slowest when it comes to live music, but the second Sunday of each month features Janie Seeger’s ToeJamz open mic and jam, with fun times to offer whether you show up to play or just listen. The first Sunday also offers a free concert and open mic from the Northstate Fiddlers, while the first and third Sundays have the popular blues jam hosted by the Blues Society. Mondays can be even more dismal in most towns, but The Dip often books quality touring acts from multiple genres on Monday evenings. Keep that in mind if Monday is your Friday. The live music scene in and around Redding has improved considerably in recent years. Enjoy.
