Out in the north state music scene this week, you can catch a member of The Strangers, Merle Haggard’s legendary band. There are tasty jazz events to enjoy, a Thursday music festival, open mics, a Buddy Holly tribute, and several local favorites appearing. It’s a good week to forsake that TV or computer screen.

He served in the Marines, the Army, and the Coast Guard. He was a business owner, an artist, and a singer-songwriter. Most of all, he was a good friend to many in the north state musicians' community. Goodbye Will Miller. You will be missed.

After a 38 year career flying helicopters, he can now sometimes be spotted around the North State singing and wrestling his guitar into submission.
