Annual Shasta College Spring Plant Sale

The 45th annual Shasta College Horticulture Department Spring Plant Sale will be held Thursday and Friday, April 14th and 15th from 8 a.m.-5p.m. and Saturday April 16th from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Shasta College campus at the Farm. This sale is planned and staffed by the Shasta College Horticulture club and will feature a variety of plants all grown by students. Selection of plants will include annual flowering, perennial, herb and vegetable plants, trees, and shrubs, California native plants and house plants. A good selection of Certified Organic vegetable starts, and drought tolerant landscape plants will be available. Plants are carefully selected to do well in the local climate and all plants have been grown using sustainable practices. All proceeds will help support Shasta College’s Horticulture Program and student scholarships.

 Some Points of interest include: 

·         Students from the nursery management class will be building displays to showcase a variety of the plants that will be for sale.

·         Information on sustainable gardening practices will be provided by Shasta County Master Gardeners. 

·         Horticulture Club Students, Shasta County Master Gardeners and California Native Plant experts will be on hand to answer questions.

·         The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) will also sell a wide selection of California Native plants at the sale.
