Girls Inc. NSV Holds Free Summer Camp for Girls

Girls Incorporated of the Northern Sacramento Valley is gathering girls to participate in its free, 10-week Summer Camp, which concludes with a camping trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Shasta and Tehama County girls ages 13 to 18, or in grades 7 to 12, are invited to attend. The weekly program meets 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Anderson Teen Center, 2889 E Center Street in Anderson, from June 11 to August 13.

The camp will highlight Project Bold, where girls learn self-defense moves as well as skills for recognizing and coping with risky situations, both in relationships and online. The camp will finish with a 2-night camping trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Transportation, food and gear will be provided. Space is limited to the first 18 to sign up.
