This is a reminder of how some think packin’ is a proactive way to live in today’s society. Pathetic! Great ‘toon Phil.

If you have it and don’t need it, great. If you don’t have it and need it ‘whose’ responsible for your murder?

    • Buzz Fledderjohn says:

I detect illiteracy. What are the quotation marks around “whose” (sic) supposed to denote? Irony? Or are you literally quoting someone.

I also detect a feeble grasp of logic. If someone who isn’t carrying a gun gets shot dead by some clown with a gun, you’re saying it’s the victim’s fault? If you’re carrying a gun and you don’t have time to draw it before you’re shot dead, is it still your fault?

Thanks for representing, though. A clear window on the mentality of the gun-humper.

All City of Redding employees should concealed carry at all times. They have the God-given right under Am. 2 to the US Constitution to level the playing field when confronted by citizens, elected representatives, journalists, cartoonists, nutjobs, union organizers and department managers.

      I detect sarcasm.

Remember the “Mexican standoff” final scene from Reservoir Dogs?

Or the SNL skit where everyone is holding pistols at arms length as they go about daily tasks (e.g., grocery store customer and checker pointing guns at each others’ faces)? That’s P. Jones’ vision of utopia.

    And the neighbor’s dog.

There are so many reasons why City employees should not carry, but I will offer just one reason. The rest you can find out by speaking to Chief Paoletti.
Scenario: A bad guy comes into City Hall with malicious intent. He pulls his gun and is aimed at someone just inside the building. A City employee who happens to be passing through pulls his gun. A police officer enters the building, sees both men with guns drawn. How is he to make the decision which is the good guy. It may be that the City employee was mad at something and pulled his weapon first, on another person.

There are so many reasons why this suggestion was wrong. Chief Paoletti spoke on KNCR several days ago, it is worth listening to, and you can go to the archives I believe to listen.

Yes, I do believe in concealed carry, but there is a right way to do it and so many wrong ways. Education on the subject is key…

The matter seemed like a conflict of interest for Mr. Jones. Why was he allowed to vote?

  7. Dorothy says:

Hey, give P.J. a break. He is just doing what many other politicians do.
Taking advantage of their position to get rich and help their friends get rich, while pretending to care about the public good.
